[The long line]

The long line is a line of people.

A line that is formed to wait in line.

There is nothing to expect. Only to stand.

On June 18, about 100 people settled, one after another, in the long line.

From 5 to 7 p.m. In the sun.

The line is a time taken up by other actions with the goal of doing nothing. Waiting.

The line has no beginning and no end.

It is circular.

It defines a space with an organic shape like an island.

It ideally crosses an abandoned space.

It draws around Magione Square defining closed and open spaces.

The performance "La Fila Lunga" is about the space between one person and another in a state of waiting.  The space between natural places and man-made environments. Between similarities and differences that allow coexistence beyond time and space.

Stefania Galegati in collaboration with Efi Spyrou invite the Palermo community to participate in the action of waiting by bringing along a personal object. 150 people gather in Magione Square for three hours in a long organic shape queue discovering themselves and others in the state of doing nothing.
